Ankush Sharma and Mayank Sharma spent seven years building AI models for tech companies — predicting markets, optimizing supply chains, automating systems. They were good at it. But in 2023, after visiting their family farms in Maharashtra, they realized the farmers feeding India had almost no access to the very tools they'd been building for multinationals. A farmer making decisions on generations of gut feel and luck, while harvest prices swung 40% on information they never had.
They walked away from six-figure salaries to build what didn't exist: an AI system trained on soil chemistry, weather patterns, crop cycles, and real farm economics — to give small and marginal farmers the same decision-making edge that agribusiness had always monopolized. No black-box model sold by a corporation. No subscription fees that make sense only on thousand-acre estates. An open tool built into the soil and into the supply chain, that pays for itself through better yields and lower input waste.
Farmers didn't need another app. They needed to make more money while rebuilding their soil.
Clean Agro was registered in 2024 to do exactly that: pair AI-driven crop planning with organic bio-inputs, train farmers to read their own data, and — most importantly — buy the harvest at a committed price so no farmer carries the risk of transition alone. Today we work with 2,100+ farmer partners across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat, each decision guided by AI that learns from their specific field, not some generic model built in a Bangalore office.
